Scenes from the I Am Jane Doe rally at Foley Square in Manhattan on October 8, 2026, as survivors, advocates and supporters gathered for a national day of action against sexual violence.
Manhattan, New York - Thursday, October 8, 2026
Hundreds gathered at Foley Square in Lower Manhattan on Thursday evening for the nationwide “I Am Jane Doe” day of action, calling for greater accountability for sexual violence and stronger support for survivors.
The rally followed national attention surrounding a lawsuit filed by a former Cornell University student identified as Jane Doe, who alleges she was drugged and gang-raped by fraternity members in 2024. The accused men have denied the allegations.
Among those addressing the crowd were Jena-Lisa Jones and Marina Lacerda, survivors of Jeffrey Epstein, along with social-justice organizer Tiffany Flowers. Their remarks connected the Cornell case with broader concerns about how institutions respond to allegations of sexual violence and how survivors are supported.
Throughout the evening, demonstrators filled the square with signs reading “I Am Jane Doe,” “We Are All Survivors,” and other messages centered on survivor solidarity and institutional accountability.
The Foley Square gathering was part of a broader national effort bringing together survivors, students, advocates and supporters in cities across the country.
